Data Matrix vs QR code
Data Matrix stores the same data in less space than a QR code and uses a slim L-shaped finder instead of three big squares. That makes it the standard for marking electronic and automotive parts, surgical tools and medicine packs, and many countries require GS1 DataMatrix for pharmaceutical serialization, such as the EU Falsified Medicines Directive. For consumer links, a QR code is better because every phone camera reads it.
